The Grossest Thing Ever... and some Ronald Fun!

So last week Jordan and I went to inspect the retention pond over on the side of the school. On the way in, we decided to cut through the field, and then cut up between the portables. Well imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon this colony of worms swimming in their new lake! It was DISGUSTING to say the least! Worms were everywhere... to bad those blue jays were not around, or they could have had a great breakfast!
There were literally 100's of worms swimming back and forth across the sidewalk. We didn't want to stick around and see their death, so Jordan took a few pictures and we went back in!
Like we said.... they were everywhere! Jordan was delighted with his find!
With all this rain we are seeing TONS of examples of erosion all over the school!
McDonalds has spent a great partner with us this year! We have had so much fun with them supporting us all year long! Well today, Ronald himself came out for our Reading Celebration! Now to be honest, the kids were not all that excited to go... not sure what they thought they were going to see, but Ronald had a show for them! He was amazing! The funniest thing ever! We could not stop laughing! Really... this clown (Ronald) should be in stand-up somewhere because he kept us in stitches!
He was cracking up that we were taking his picture! I told him he would be BLOG famous!
Mrs. Heather (who is Ronald's PR manager and Mrs. Rowan's tap teacher) allowed us to stay after and get our class picture with him! Thanks Mrs. Heather and Ronald... YOU BOTH ROCK!

After Ronald, we returned to the room to finish our Calendar Math Post Test! Yes, contrary to popular belief we are still working (S-O-M-E)! The next few days we will be wrapping up many of our post tests. This is a great way to show growth-over-time for our students!
After the Math Test we watched My Fair Lady! What a classic! I don't think it held the students' attention as much as The Sound of Music, but it did get quite a bit of laughs! Great movie!
We are also in the process of checking back in all our books! Today it looked like we might actually be 100% on all of our textbooks! We still have a few missing library books- remember the books or the money by this Friday! You DO NOT want to start middle school with a balance owing on your account..... THAT IS NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!!!
American Grandstand practice after school was great! Thank you to all of our parents who came and picked our students up! We could not do this without you!
We do have quite a bit going on these last few days, and any free time you have feel free to drop in and spend some time with us as we wrap-up our elementary experience!
We will practice Grandstand tomorrow, then our school shows will run all day Thursday with and evening show that night! Friday is our pizza party with Jr. Achievement! And then next week..... well let's just say we will be busy!
Stay dry!
