Sno-Kones, Lap Tops and Science Fair!

Hopefully you have assisted or reviewed Science Fair materials, procedures, and variables (tonight) with your student! We are anticipating sending purchased backboards home on Friday. We will also give each student labels for their backboards.

Today was laptop day in Room 138~ We explored eduplace.com websites for Reading and Social Studies today. These are great sites that are students can also access at home.

They can work with story words and concepts, build on ideas, or research people in our Social Studies book.

And finally... to celebrate our 100% five day participation in Spirit Week we had our Sno-Kone party today! Our class rocked it out- Two years in a row we have had 100% classroom participation from our students and parents! We appreciate ALL your help with that! It is a really fun way that leads into our 4th 9 weeks!

* Remember - $2.25 for Science Backboards
* $60.00 for end of year trip to Animal Kingdom and End of Year Picnic
* Play Day is next Friday - more details to come.
* We need parents to help with the 5th grade dance (3 weeks!) - please let us know if you are interested!

The Bone Doctors......

We spent quite a bit of time Monday working with our owl pellets. If you are not sure what an owl pellet is, make sure to ask your student. If you live in a wooded area, you may be even to find your own!!!! Gloves and toothpicks-- 5th grade Science Tools!
The search begins!

A mole skull!!!! Our biggest find yet!
And this my friends is why missing ONE day can be a BAD thing!!! We are not able to make-up our hands-on instruction the way we would if you were here!!
These last 42 days .... try and be here ON TIME EVERYDAY!!! We have so much to do - you want to be prepared for middle school!!!
** Students must know their multiplication facts!!! It is really making division hard - especially when basic facts like 6x7 is an unknown!!!!!
To assist with this, we will begin drills on Monday. - Those that are able to master will participate in a pizza party!!!!

*Report cards for the 3rd grading period come home April 20th. We have begun our 4th nine weeks.
* After today, there are 42 school days this year! Try to be present every day! We have a lot to cover.
