And there they go.......

Sunday morning started really early for Mrs. Yadon and Mrs. Rowan! We were on the road by 4:45 (AM) making are way to the stadium! It was a really fast ride-- no traffic! When we arrived there were already many people there and all the coaches!

All the patrols were really excited! They were going on a BRAND NEW BUS!!! Never been used before! It was really nice, and smelled really good! A headrest that has never been used is really a neat concept! The weather is looking great for their week in DC, and they have a very busy week planned. I wonder if they will see anybody important?

Mrs. Yadon just returned from the beach and now she is in DC, and Mrs. Rowan is leaving Thursday for Kentucky, Gatlinburg, and North Carolina! We are having a blast this summer. It is great to hear from all of yall. It seems everybody is busy this summer.
Make sure you check with your middle schools to find out when your orientation is! You cannot afford to miss that!
We will check in soon!

How's Your Summer?

I came home from the IMAX the other night to find this fire truck and a lot of water all over our neighborhood! I first thought.... oh no.... I hope there was not a fire! And luckily that was the case, the fire truck was just driving around to all the fire hydrants checking the pressure of the water! Too bad they didn't ask us if we wanted our yards watered!Well, do you miss us yet? We miss you, but are enjoying the time off to recharge for next year! Mrs. Yadon is in the middle of a huge major kitchen renovation (she is eating out a lot!) and Mrs. Rowan has just started Vacation Bible School (VBS) where she ran into Daniel and Calvin this morning! She always see Daniel, but she was glad to see Calvin!
Then, Mrs. Yadon, Mrs. Rowan, Mr. Sofferin, and Mrs. Hartless drove out to our school warehouse to try and find tables for next year. We didn't have a lot of luck, but we did enjoy seeing each other. You should see the great job Mr. Sofferin did with the concession stand! It looks really good!
Drop us a line and let us know what you are up to!
I'll try to post some more pictures later! Enjoy your summer and remember to STAY SAFE around WATER!!!!

Good Bye For Now, To You My Friend

Good bye for now until we meet again,
It's been great to learn and play together,
and now it's time to say good bye!
Wow! I can't believe it is already Monday night! It has been a very busy weekend for us with THREE recital shows and 2 full dress rehearsals. I felt like we should have rented a dorm over at UNF! I hope you had a great start to your summer! Mrs. Yadon and I went through your cumulative folders today getting them ready for middle school. We are so proud that 100% of our kids are going to middle school. We know that you will do great!
Friday was a hard day to say good bye! It started off great with our last breakfast and fun.. but then as 11:30 rolled around, so did the tears! We hope you had a great year with us! We are continually amazed how much we learn every year as teachers! Remember that we expect the best from you always, even though it may not be the easiest road, you KNOW what is the right road! I love this picture of you guys... it reminds me of how much fun we had! Enjoy your summer!

So Long, Farewell, To You Our Friends!
Good Bye For Now...
Until we meet again!

Shake, Shake, Shake,.... Shake, Shake, Shake...

Shake your ice cream! Wow! What an end of the year party! Are you tired yet??? Really, I think we have had a LOT of pizza these last few days. Today, was no different, except we did get some vegetables in there with our great salads and carrot sticks! You guys deserved every bit of today! You have been such a great class this year. You have bonded, become a family, and shared a lot of learning and fun together. You should be proud of yourselves!
The fun came when we made our 1st round (yes, there were two) of dessert! Today, we put our science skills to work again! We made ice cream from milk in our very own bag system! It was great fun, and quite messy~ maybe that is why it was so much fun! This was a multiple step process. First the all important question...... What flavor is your ice cream? Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry?? Tough choices today!
Then, we added sugar, vanilla, milk and syrup if you wanted a flavor.
Here were all our yummy ingredients! We have learned that good prep work makes our job easier!
Yes.. that is sugar being poured into Cinnamon's bag! Pure old sugar. Her next step was Mrs. Rowan adding 1 cup of milk.

These rocks (salt) were the key to our success!!! Can you say ROCK SALT!

So we discovered something VERY important today! There is something to "heavy duty" ziploc bags! We did start inside but quickly had dripping ice bags so outside we went!
And here we are getting our groove on.... join me .... shake, shake, shake, ... shake, shake, shake
show'em how we do it now... (I know.. I digress, must of you probably don't know that song!) but man, the secret to good ice cream is definitely in the shaking!
but... only if you are in a circle! HAHA

Yes, even this late in the year, we had a class full of skeptics! I mean really guys... have we led you down the wrong path yet????

Jackpot! We hit chocolate... vanilla, and strawberry ice cream!
and was it ever good!

and they ate, and ate, and ate!!!
Klaudia was all smiles!
Stewie and Morgan eat their strawberry ice cream!
Klaudia enjoys her chocolate!
Diaje and Jason eat it up as well! Needless to say, making ice cream was a HUGE hit!

Even Seven became a believer today!
Jordan too!

Bags full of ice cream they ate!
Yummy was the general consensus!
Then, after homemade ice cream outside, we went in and ate yummy brownies that Mrs. Yadon made for us with our left over ice cream from Friday!

Then because we ate so much, we put in American Grandstand and danced around to work off some of those bazillion calories that we just ate!
PEACE OUT! We had a great year in Room 138! We love our students and are excited that they all rocked the FCAT and will be moving up to 6th grade! You should be very proud of yourselves! You guys can honestly say that you worked til 1:15 every day!
Notes for Wild Adventures came home today. Make sure you are on the bus at 6:45! We will return to school about 7:15 that evening. We suggest no more than $25.00 for spending money. It will be hot--- no swim suits! Bring a water bottle!
We have awards and our picnic tomorrow! Bring a change of clothes so you can play! Hamburgers, chips, watermelon, snow cones, and lots more!
See you in the morning!
