Farmers, Researchers, and Singers!

We are busy growing our radish seeds! Five of our eight have sprouted! And they are getting taller by the hour it seems! Check the growth from this picture to the ones posted previously! We will add pill bugs, worms, and fish after the break. Students have been able to observe many changes already! Wow! What is this strange looking stick? Well many students thought it was bamboo - WRONG! It is real sugar cane (not that I think there is fake sugar cane!) all the way from Folkston, GA. One of our grandparents from last year brought it in for us.
There was just something about holding this long rod of sugar cane! Everyone wanted to do it! We will chop it up tomorrow and report how it tastes.
O.K. - so now that we have technology we are just hot for interesting websites! I found one for math off the Landon Blog of my friend, Mrs. Singleton- http://coolmath.com/ ! We found some great games and spent a little bit of time this afternoon trying to solve the problems. Needless to say we had great brain work-outs! It is great to see kids excited about problem solving.
Calvin and Eduardo are enjoying their guided reading group! We used are level readers today, and went to http://educplace.com/ (student area) to practice vocabulary and story questions!

Here Mario and Tyree are busy gathering research for our Holidays Around the World Project. We start work on our posters tomorrow and I can't wait to see what they have found! It will be great to see all the presentations next week!

Alexandria, Allison, and Jordan are looking over our Science homework. We are learning how to read and analyze graphs in Science, as well as determine food webs.
Zelma and Tony were also busy gathering information for their Holidays Around the World presentations.

Even with Art and Music today we were still able to get quite a bit done. Tomorrow is an Early Release Day, and chorus is practicing from 11:15-1:15, so we will be a bit scattered with our work. Be sure to come out and support our Chorus Thursday Night!
The time is flying by, .... Only 8 more days until Winter Break!
