WARNING--- HEAVY BONE POST!

Oh my goodness, what to do??? With only one instructional day left before Science FCAT, what must we do???? Why have Science Olympics of course!
And the weather was great! One of our first activity included working with owl pellets. Yes, I know, kind of gross, BUT oh so much fun! Who would have thought that digging in an owl pellet would reveal so much about the owl's ecosystem! We used gloves, toothpicks, and tweezers to hunt for our bounty!

Look! Even the fur is still attached to some of the bones! What a bounty there!

This was our bone chart that helped us identify what we were finding!
Look at all that fur! Talk about a hairball!

A real wishbone!
This was a great activity ! We were really impressed by what we found, and what we could identify based on our bone chart!

After the owl pellets we played brain brawl, worked on creating good experiments, and went through a review of several units of Science that are covered in lower grades!

All in all it was a great day that ended with sweet treats in honor of Alexandria's birthday!

Our 5th graders are ready for this test! Once again we will have breakfast in the classroom Monday and Tuesday. Thank you so much for sending in some YUMMY breakfast foods and snack items!

Don't forget your $3.00 for McDonalds and your $40.00 for the end of the year trip!
