Will the Sun Ever Shine Again? We Have Cooking To Do!

On Tuesday we designed solar ovens from all those Pringles cans we have been collecting. (Thanks to all who sent one in) Students were shown a sample oven and we discussed how the cans could trap the radiant heat from the Sun. They were all offered the same supplies and challenged to build what they thought would be the best solar cooker. Now, if the weather would only cooperate. We think Friday will be the day to make S'mores. Yum! I wonder whose oven will get the hottest and whose marshmellows will be the ooey gooeyest (not sure that is proper English). Look for results soon. We will try to see which variable produced the highest temperature. Don't be surprised if your child asks about using their oven to cook a hotdog at home!
