Our first group gets ready. They are sliding mentos down their funnel.
I missed the reaction, but BOY! can Jazzie move!
They hit the jackpot!
Lakia gets ready to drop her mentos.
It was more like a smoldering eruption!
This group used a PVC pipe to drop their mentos in. Let's just say they received an "A+" for the stickiest reaction! Wow, were we glad they had on ponchos!
They were tickled pink at the mess they created!

A thumbs up, for six great chemical reactions. If you ask your student, they should be able to tell you the reason for the reaction! They probably learned more about diet coke and mentos than they ever wanted to know!

We will take our Science Benchmark tomorrow. It is not open book, as this test comes from the county. Students may review chapter 11 in their blue science book.
Next ..... energy. Remember ..................... all energy comes from the sun?

Steve Spangler is proud! Your students will never forget the day they created the biggest science mess of all time. The pictures of the kids in yellow coats with soda flying through the air are priceless... and the PVC Mentos drop was the best!
Keep up the great work.
