Students have investigated physical changes of matter this week. On Wednesday we smahed, broke, shaved, melted and froze crayons. We thought of 13 different physical changes we could make to a piece of paper for homework. I bet there are even more! A physical change is a change in the size, shape or state of matter. Next week we will investigate chemical changes. Don't be surprised if your fifth grade scientist wants to start baking or mixing things together.
