Do you really think this painted turtle has never been fed by visitors? He saw us on the bridge and made a beeline for us.

We're Off to the Woods......

Don't forget tomorrow we are off to the WOODS @ UNF Wildlife Sanctuary. Remember to wear jeans and sneakers. We are HIKING after lunch so be PREPARED.... Not Scared (We do realize some of you haven't been outside in nature!)
Be sure to bring a bag lunch and a drink!
A few pictures from Wednesday and Thursday-

Tony is busy working on his Constitution- I wonder if we will want to (or be allowed for that matter) to live on his island.

Emily and Diaje' did a great job teaching their Blast Off lesson to the class. We are really enjoying these lesson presented to students by students. Having half the class at computer is really working for our boy and girl groups.

Maddie and Lauren are busy "SEARCHING" for the right answers, because we know on the FCAT that many of the answers are in fact "RIGHT THERE!"

Klaudia is using her awesome skills to locate answers using key words and supporting details.

Alexandria is reading for meaning - she will be able to answer all the questions at the end!

******* Pictures from Thursday *********

Today was a great glue and scissor day in Room 138. We had them out two separate times today!
A big thanks to Mrs. Plish for letting us borrow her fancy-smancy scissors!

Dalton is busy making his Valentine bag! He even cut out his own hearts.

Eduardo rocks on cutting out hearts!

The girls are busy working.,... what did they do with Calvin?

Seven is working on his MAD scissor skills---

Brittany and Tyree are having a contest.... Who can make the fastest heart!

Everyone in Room 138 Spread a little love today!

Crayons, Markers, Glue Sticks, Scissors..... We made great use of classroom supplies today!

Allison was all smiles over her bag!

Daniel and Jason work to "PERFECT" their bags!

These next few pictures show us working to create our energy books! Wait until these are done.. You will be impressed by our "Simple Machine Knowledge"

We are rocking and rolling in Room 138 getting ready for the big test! The next three weeks we will really practice our test taking skills. The reading test this year is all multiple choice and we are learning how to think like test makers in order to be great test takers!

If you have any time in the next three weeks and you would like to volunteer some tutoring services we would love to have you in our room! We can use you anytime.

Will end with Nahjani's smile....it says it all... how much fun we have learning EVERYDAY in Room 138.

New Bloggers are Angel and Jasmine

Zelma and Brittney hated to give it up but we changed classroom jobs on Friday. Our new webmasters are itching to get started!

Ask your student what they are learning to do in the computer lab this week. Who knew learning about internet safety could be so engaging. Mrs. Rowan and Mrs. Yadon are impressed with the work they have done in just 3 days. We will try to email their finished powerpoint presentations to you so you can view them. This will start a whole new way to prepare presentaions in our classroom. Just think if students could have done the "Island" presentaions with this media. Wow! These kids are so smart and have so much potential.

Playground fun on what feels like a Spring day.

Brittney and Klaudia invent a new cure for the headache.

Where does the time go?

Wow- it has been slow in coming, but finally some pictures! This weekend really got away from me ( 2 really big papers due for me, and Mrs. Yadon was sick all weekend) so we forgot to post some of our awesome work from the previous week. With our new blog editors photos are in ready supply!

Calvin and Jordan work through Blast Off so they will be ready to teach their lesson to the class.
Jasmine and Angel are also working hard on their lesson!
Turinya and Maddie were working hard (Mon) because they had to present today (Tues.) and they did a wonderful job!

We are still working with simple machines in Science. Today we saw how a wedge could cut apples and cut clay.

Boris was a little creative with his clay! But, the force of the wedge worked just the same!

Yes, the MAC's are a hit with students! They continue to amaze us with all they know how to do on the MAC's!

Mrs. Rowan and Mrs. Yadon discussing "BIG" things!! HaHa.... we actually just finished lunch!
Zelma working on yet another I-Movie.

This was my car from last week... see it really did get cold here for two days!

Yikes.... where is my ice scraper???? That ice was really caked on, but no match for my heater!

We are zooming right through February. It looks like the weather will hold out for us Friday for our field trip. We want to remind students that they need to wear JEANS, socks, and sneakers. The weather should be mild, but they probably still want to bring a light weight jacket (a hoodie would be great!)
Our Valentines exchange will be Friday afternoon.... if anybody would like to bring in a sweet treat that would be YUMMY!

Way to Go 4th Graders!

Room 138 wanted to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to the 4th Graders at Beauclerc. We know they worked really hard on the FCAT this morning.

We are having a very busy day today. First we had Art and Music, and now we are splitting our time between Computer Lab and Blast Off!

Pictures to come.....

Remember JEANS AND SNEAKERS on Friday!
